A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of teaching an AutoCAD course at a small school in northern Thailand. Part of the training included some 3D modeling. Typically, when I teach 3D modeling, I give students small inexpensive objects (usually toys) and ask them to model the objects using the commands they’ve learned.

The Los Angeles Public Library wants to make it easier for you to make stuff. The new Octavia Lab maker space/audiovisual studio at the L.A. Central Library is 3,000 square feet designed to help you make your thing. It lets you do everything from 3D printing and using a laser cutter to filming on a green screen and using fancy sewing machines.

This mycologists figured out how to make bricks made from growing fungi that are super-strong and water-, mold- and fire resistant.
To most people, mushrooms are a food source. To mycologist (mushroom scientist) Philip Ross, fungi are much, much more. In fact, Ross is most passionate about mushrooms’ ability to be used for building materials and it is this is what he primarily focuses his attention on. A NEW TRAFFIC INTERSECTION!

This 45 minute webinar will take a quick tour through the Pressure Network functionality available in Civil 3D and discuss the Pros and Cons of the network creation workflow.

Specifically, we will look at the creation tools available for pressure networks when using the Pipes & Bends and Pipes Only options, or when creating the network from an object. Next, we will look at adding fittings and appurtenances to the network and then adding the network to a profile view. Finally, we will discuss labeling and how it relates to the Pressure Network Catalog.
