MONTHLY UPDATE: JUNE 2019

As Spring morphs into Summer and everyone begins the age-old juggle between office duties, field work, and summer vacations, we’d like to take a moment for those affected by the extreme weather the nation has experienced over the past few months and how it has devastated many people’s lives and livelihoods. It’s as important as ever to give you the best workflows and process efficiencies as you handle not only your normal Summertime routines, but also help neighbors and communities rebuild.

Over the last few weeks, Autodesk has released a couple of updates – check out the workflow sections and a good video on data shortcuts.

Software Updates & Hotfixes

AUTODESK® STORM AND SANITARY ANALYSIS 2019 FOR AUTODESK® CIVIL 3D® 2019

What is included?
This update contains fixes for the following issues:
• Fixed the issue that the coordinate system list contains only one item.

AUTODESK® ROBOT™ STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS PROFESSIONAL 2020.0.1 HOTFIX

 

Primary Issues Resolved by Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2020.0.1 Hotfix

The following defects have been fixed in this hotfix:
General Issues
• Fixed an issue in which the program could crash on start for some Single-User subscription license.
Reinforced Concrete Design
• Corrected an improper calculation of the safety factor for slender columns for ACI 318-14 and ACI 318M-14 design code.
• Fixed an issue when generating multi-threaded calculation for the Reinforced Concrete columns.
Steel Connection Design
• Fixed an inconsistency between values and units in open dialogs when changing the Regional Setting in Preferences.
• Corrected column web tensile resistance calculations for fixed column bases of rectangular tube columns.
• Corrected anchor shear capacity calculation according to the CEB provisions for fixed and pinned column bases.
• Modified effective anchorage depth calculations for fixed and pinned column bases so that grout layer thickness is now considered.
Steel Design
• Corrected the unidirectional pipe verification method when, in some locations, bi-directional bending was checked.
• Corrected the nominal strength for tension flange yielding procedure in American standard ANSI/AISC 360-10.

AUTOCAD PLANT 2020.0.1 UPDATE

Fixed Issues

Collaboration Workflow
Fixed an issue where opening collaboration projects failed in some special network settings.
Collaboration workflow detects system proxy settings correctly now.
New projects are now created correctly with a collaboration project template.
Performance improvements for opening collaboration projects.

Vault Workflow
Fixed an issue where migrating vault projects from a 2017 version failed in certain cases.
Duplicate vault projects showed in open dialog in certain cases.
Performance improvements for opening vault projects and drawings.

PERSONAL ACCELERATOR FOR REVIT 2019 AND REVIT 2020 SECURITY FIX

Issue resolved by this security fix
To align with industry best practices for security and data integrity, Autodesk Identity Services and Revit Cloud Models Services, will move to Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 and stop supporting TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on June 15, 2019. Action may be required to update your software to maintain access to certain product functionality or features. To maintain connectivity, follow the instructions below. If your software is affected and is not updated, connectivity issues may occur as of June 15, 2019.

This update will allow the following feature functionality to be utilized.
• Personal Accelerator (PAC) for Revit Cloud Worksharing

BIM INTEROPERABILITY TOOLS FOR REVIT 2020

BIM Interoperability Tools v7.1.7052.0 for Revit 2020 supports the released versions of Revit 2020. Improvements made in this version:
• COBie and Model Checker – improved Excel export
• COBie fixes – XML date time localization no longer causes issue on import – system export empty in some situations now populates properly – component space names incorrectly generating their own now pull from host space/room parameter – Zone Manager UI works properly when creating new zones – contacts now properly access Classification Manager
• Classification Manager fixes – category dropdown working again with known limitations
• Model Checker fixes – report crash on Duplicate Element check no longer crashes – Configurator Advanced check tab Save and New buttons function as expected – report not showing model and checkset information if XML is not found now shows header information.

This 45 minute webinar will take a quick tour through the Pressure Network functionality available in Civil 3D and discuss the Pros and Cons of the network creation workflow.

Specifically, we will look at the creation tools available for pressure networks when using the Pipes & Bends and Pipes Only options, or when creating the network from an object. Next, we will look at adding fittings and appurtenances to the network and then adding the network to a profile view. Finally, we will discuss labeling and how it relates to the Pressure Network Catalog.
