MONTHLY UPDATE: JANUARY 2018

Hi Infrastructure Universe,

Happy New Year from the Infrastructure Universe! Autodesk has recently released a few updates for various softwares. I also have some really cool videos that show some helpful tips & tricks for Civil 3D. Read on for all the updates this month.

Software Updates & Hotfixes

Civil 3D 2018.2 Update (Service Pack)
Readme

The release of Civil 3D 2018.2 at the end of December, including design efficiency, production efficiency, and collaboration efficiency enhancements. Ron Couillard explained these enhancements in depth in a blog post last week. There are also many issues resolved in this update, including issues related to corridors, cross sections, feature lines, profiles, and more.

Use the Autodesk Desktop App to download and install this update.

3ds Max 2018.4 Update (Service Pack)
Readme

This update contains fixes for many known issues and workarounds for several problems with no current fix.

Autodesk Vehicle Tracking 2018.2 Update
Readme

This update resolved several issues, including:

  • An issue when updating a roundabout after updating to Update 1
  • An issue in advanced editor when adding a shape
  • An issue that caused a "My Documents/My Vehicle Tracking Data" folder being created in the user's home folder
  • An issue that occurred when printing Design Check reports on some drawings

Navisworks Manage 2018.2 Update (Service Pack)
Readme

This update includes several enhancements, including:

  • LMV users will now see a clear error message when the Navisworks extractor fails
  • In ReCap, a viewpoint is saved at the origin of each scan
  • Navisworks now supports the ability to outline cross-sections

There are also many fixes included for current known issues.

Tool for Tuesday: MapTrim
